Caring for Children is Our Specialty
For over 60 years, it has been our privilege to provide the best in preventive and acute care for our patients. By dedicating ourselves to your child’s physical, mental, and emotional well-being, we are committed to providing comprehensive, evidence-based medicine to infants, children, and adolescents in a caring, supportive, and inclusive environment.
At Pediatrics of Arlington, our goal is to partner with you to help raise healthy children, delivering the healthcare we expect for our own families.
Pediatric Services
Well Child Visits
Well child visits are a vital part of your child’s health care, and they typically follow this schedule recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics. During a check-up, we evaluate growth, development, vision, speech and hearing. These visits also provide an opportunity to discuss child safety, nutrition, accident prevention and anticipated changes in behavior and development. During some visits your child will receive immunizations and screening tests of blood and urine.
Additional Services
Well child visits and immunizations are only some of the services we offer at Pediatrics of Arlington. We are well-equipped to handle your child’s needs: everything from newborn care to sports physicals, acute care to chronic conditions. We also offer mental health care, COVID-19 antigen and PCR testing, lactation training, basic contraception, in-house laboratory services, and more.
Neuropsychologist
We are happy to announce a new collaboration with a local neuropsycholgist to help with our psychoeducational assessment referrals.
Christina Tripodi Mitchell, Psy.D., PMH-C, NCSP, is a licensed psychologist who treats children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Tripodi is also a licensed Perinatal Mental Health Counselor with a deep interest in supporting parents.

She received her M.S. and Psy.D. in school psychology from St. John’s University, where she completed a concentration in clinical intervention and therapy and graduated with high

Welcome to Pediatrics of Arlington
Choosing a pediatrician for your child is an important decision. Whether you are expecting a newborn, have recently moved to the area, or are looking for a new medical home for your children, we thank you for trusting us with your child’s health. It is crucial that your pediatrician’s philosophy on health and wellness aligns with that of your family. If you have not done so already, please read our mission statement and review our policies to make sure that we are the best fit for your family.
Newborns
We look forward to meeting your infant at the first newborn visit! We prefer the visit to be within the first three days of life, or one day after discharge from the hospital. Please call us after your baby is born to schedule an appointment.
Before your first visit, we ask that you complete our new patient forms and upload them through our patient portal or bring them to your first visit. For newborn patients, please bring your hospital discharge information with you to the appointment.
Prenatal Visits
Are you expecting? Congratulations! Our providers offer free prenatal visits so that expecting parents can ask questions and learn more about our practice. Please call our office for availability.

Meet Our Physicians
Our award winning physicians are proud to offer highly personalized care because we truly love caring for kids and their families. We are a team and take advantage of our providers’ backgrounds, experiences, and strengths to provide the best care to each individual patient. Our pediatricians are board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and fellows of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Many of our physicians teach or serve on local medical boards and committees, and are consistently listed as Top Doctors in The Washingtonian and Northern Virginia Magazine.
We practice as a group for your convenience and benefit. This means all the pediatricians at our practice may see your child, however, you also may specify a particular doctor when scheduling well or sick appointments. We work on a rotating call schedule, so you will never be without a pediatric provider should your child have an emergency. We hope you will take a minute to get to know us!

Office Hours

8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday
8:30 am - 12:00 pm
We require an appointment for your child to be seen. We understand that children can become ill quickly and unexpectedly, which is why we reserve a portion of our daily schedule for sick children. We do our best to schedule these visits as same-day appointments. Please call to make an appointment. Our in-office phone lines are open 8AM-5PM.
Be advised that call volumes are high between 8:00am – 9:00am, so if you have a non-urgent medical question, consider calling later in the day or send us a portal message, and our triage nurse will contact you at their soonest availability.
After-Hours Care
If your child’s illness or injury is life-threatening, call 911.
POISON CONTROL HOTLINE
1 (800) 222-1222
Our after hours line is intended for emergency or urgent situation. For urgent medical issues when the office is closed, reach our on-call physician by calling our office at (703) 522-7300. Please leave a message with our answering service that includes your child’s name and age, a contact phone number, a pharmacy number if needed, and a description of the medical issue. The on-call provider or our nurse triage service will call you back.
Due to the high volume of after hours calls, we kindly request that you wait to discuss any non-urgent medical questions and prescription requests with our nurse triage service until the following business day.
There may be a small fee assessed to after-hours calls between 5pm – 10pm.
The overnight (10pm – 8am) $25 phone triage fee remains in effect.
