CHADIS: Child Health and Development Interactive System

Mon, Feb 27, 2023

As of February 25, 2023, Pediatrics of Arlington implemented the online screening and survey tool – CHADIS. CHADIS is an interactive online screening tool designed to provide your children with the best care possible.  CHADIS does this by assisting in the early diagnosis of developmental, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns as well as a variety of health risks that can be difficult to see during a typical visit. All responses are completely confidential and cannot be viewed by anyone except your doctor.

CHADIS will save you time during the office visit. You can tell us about any problems or concerns you want to discuss, provide us with your child’s medical history and background, and report on the progress of your child’s development.

In order for us to provide you and your child with the best care possible, we need you to use CHADIS before each visit. We will review the results of the questionnaires during your visit and discuss any concerns you may have.

Please refer to the Tools and Resources page for more information regarding this new online tool.

Office Hours

Monday - Friday
8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Saturday
8:30 am - 12:00 pm

We require an appointment for your child to be seen. We understand that children can become ill quickly and unexpectedly, which is why we reserve a portion of our daily schedule for sick children. We do our best to schedule these visits as same-day appointments. Please call to make an appointment. Our in-office phone lines are open 8AM-5PM.

Be advised that call volumes are high between 8:00am – 9:00am, so if you have a non-urgent medical question, consider calling later in the day or send us a portal message, and our triage nurse will contact you at their soonest availability.

After-Hours Care

If your child’s illness or injury is life-threatening, call 911.

POISON CONTROL HOTLINE
1 (800) 222-1222

Our after hours line is intended for emergency or urgent situation. For urgent medical issues when the office is closed, reach our on-call physician by calling our office at (703) 522-7300. Please leave a message with our answering service that includes your child’s name and age, a contact phone number, a pharmacy number if needed, and a description of the medical issue. The on-call provider or our nurse triage service will call you back.

Due to the high volume of after hours calls, we kindly request that you wait to discuss any non-urgent medical questions and prescription requests with our nurse triage service until the following business day.

There may be a small fee assessed to after-hours calls between 5pm – 10pm.

The overnight (10pm – 8am) $25 phone triage fee remains in effect.
