Sick Visits and Medical Advice
Our telephone triage nurse is available beginning at 8:00am to discuss routine childcare questions and to make appointments for sick visits.
Our physicians are available to discuss your child’s health issues and concerns. Please leave a message with the nurse or receptionist and the doctor will call you back.
After Hours and Emergency Care
A physician from our office is always available when the office is closed to answer urgent questions and respond to emergencies. The “on-call” physician may be reached by calling our office at (703) 522-7300 or our answering service at (703) 558-0886. You will be connected to the Virginia Hospital Center operator, who will take your message and relay it to the physician.
If you are dealing with a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 for an ambulance or go directly to the closest emergency room. The emergency room physician will communicate with us so that we can coordinate your child’s care.
In case of ingestion of unusual substances, please call the poison control center at (800) 222-1222 immediately.Laboratory Services
Pediatrics of Arlington has a CLIA certified laboratory in the office so that your child’s laboratory testing can be done at the time of your visit. Our laboratory is able to perform a wide range of evaluations including complete blood counts, bilirubin levels, strep screens, throat cultures, urinalyses, and urine cultures.
